The Importance of Quality Life and Health Care

Health is a state of mind in which sickness and infirmity are completely absent. It includes all the aspects of life that affects the body, mind and emotions of an individual. When people speak of health, they typically refer to their general well being. In medical terms, this is referred to as somatic, physiological and psychological aspects of health.

The word ‘health’ pertains to the whole of a person’s body, mind and emotions. A well balanced health implies having harmony within the body, mind and spirit. It also means having a balanced diet and having a regular sleep pattern. People usually consider their health to be a reflection of how much they enjoy living and how well they take care of themselves.

Being healthy means you have good digestion, sufficient energy, sufficient rest, a normal range of emotions, clear skin, a normal range of mental and physical thoughts, clear communication and a general sense of well being. Good health is something that we all strive for, but it is not something that can be achieved in a day. Maintaining a health status throughout one’s life is dependent on the quality of your personal relationships with other people, your own self esteem and your attitude to your health and your body. When you have these three components in balance, your health will remain a high priority.

Mental health comprises your thoughts, feelings, values and knowledge. These things are reflected in your body as signs, symptoms and signs that your health is either poor or optimal. Mental health therefore refers to a state in which you are at your best. It also refers to a state in which you are free from anxiety, depression, tension and other negative feelings and emotions.

Emotional health refers to your ability to feel and deal effectively with stress. You may be feeling stressed but you are not aware of it. Stress is caused by hormones and other chemicals in the body. It has many consequences including increased blood pressure, faster heart beat and irregular breathing. The symptoms of stress include difficulty concentrating, emotional numbing, constant worrying and aches and pains.

Physical health refers to your ability to have a proper and nourishing diet and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Having sufficient water intakes, enough rest, exercises, and sufficient physical activities to keep you fit and healthy. You should always try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. Exercising helps keep your body well toned, maintains proper weight and increases muscle strength.
